well

I award a 4 for your decent drawing/animation. Otherwise the 'joke' was weak and there was really nothing else to this short.

Awesome

Really liked it. Would love to watch this on a trip :D

The music definitely made it 10x better too, great choice.

Can you tell me what the track is/ who the saxophonist is?

Another like this, but longer, would be great!

NeverZone responds:

I'm glad you liked it. Here's the bands myspace. http://www.myspace.com/lesrhino

The track is called "walking" and I believe the site says the sax is Peter, but I'm sure the site can tell you more.

Great

I thought it was great, sure there's some parts where it is slightly let down, but overall you're making a full episode and attempting a lot more than what a lot of other NG uploaders attempt, so you have to get immediate props for that.

I think the animation and the art style is great. Individually, it's fairly standard, but when you realise you've kept that level of quality across the entire episode which is fairly long, then it becomes quite impressive.

Some places were hard to follow, inbetween scenes would have helped. Also although what audio you had was good, the continuity across scenes, various levels, and synchronisation need work and contributed towards it being hard to follow in places.

Also, one thing that slightly dissapointed me was the rather cliche characters and story. I'd like to see it branch away from that but understand how difficult that can be, especially now you've already set it in stone with previous episodes.

If I could, I'd give you an 8.5, but seeing as I can't I have to give an 8 seeing as the things listed above means it can't quite get a 9.

AdamTilford responds:

To be honest, the animated series is merely one big experiment. This is one of those "one shot" sequels to something else with more depth. The animation is always a constant improvement in speed work. By now I've gotten the hang of animating and how many frames work in order to it to be smooth. I'm pushing to actually just finish this season. I have other works that are getting more indepth detail when it comes to animating that can't be released yet. So the amount of time I'm putting into this, while it's a lot, I know I can do much more with it. Also, this was the first time using my Cintiq, so it was a little weird for me at first, but hopefully using this scene as the test, the final one of this episode will be a lot better.

I will admit I got really lazy on the last part of this scene. A lot of the lip syncs got thrown off track with some lag and frame loss.

This is based off of my novel series, which by default is a lot more indepth, especially in character development because of the fact it's prose. And this by the very nature of it, is merely a quick throw together extension of it.

As for cliches, for anything involving any type of war or conflict, there's really very very little that wouldn't be taken as a cliche nowadays. I already have this entire season scripted. Each actual episode runs about 22 minutes, the previous one was around 30 minutes.

I appreciate the support, I know there's a lot I need to work on, but it is something I do in my free time between work, freelance work and a social life, and doing final revisions of novels.

well

I liked the fact your butterfly sounded like beavis/butthead.

Other than that, everything was rather average and the punchline is tired.

Almost

I gave an average rating because without your comment, I wouldn't have known what was going on. Infact I watched it once, read your comment in confusion, and then watched it again - still without seeing the plot unfold.

The drawing and animation was okay, adequate for the flash but can be improved like you said.

I thought the sound and effects were the strong point of your flash and you did these really well.

If you're going to create more, then I'd say iron and polish your drawing and animation and make sure that whats happening can be understood without the person having to read your comment.

Joeylicious responds:

As you could see in the description, this flash was gonna have some heavy dialogue and talking.
However, since that's not what my teacher wanted, I had to create something simple.
Like a Looney Tunes short.

The later episodes will involve a lot more verbal dialogue so that my audience doesn't have to guess what's going on.

Thanks for your compliments though.

awsums

lol i really like it, nuff said

expand!

Animation was great, art style worked well, audio was good. Just think you should expand on it.

coughing-dog responds:

initially i was going to animate 2 mins of it but it became impossible due to many assignments and looming deadlines. wld be nice if it were longer but im done with this project now

Try Harder

Audio quality was terrible, drawing and animation was poor, and it was super short - although on the scheme of things that might be a good point.

Take time to really work hard on your anime, and the results will show.

TonyAzemia responds:

it was supposed to be a quick job on this flash, but thanks for the review i will try harder next time hopefully you might like my next animation im gonna upload today :D

I liked it

I liked it but I think you should elaborate on it, it could be great.

Good art style but

Yoiu can draw and animate well, however it seems like your effort was wasted in a pointless and unsatisfying short.
